Question about dog chowing issue?

OK we have a mutt and she is 5 months old. We trained her to do every thing outside on a matt and every thing is fine. We even install dog patio door and she get used to it very fast within 1 hour.
During day when we are going out and she is alone like 4 hours once or twice a week we close all doors and let her alone in our living room which have access to our patio. We never had any pee accident but lately she start to chew out furniture so I decided to get her a god house and put the house in our patio (balcony) and live her there while we are out with water food and blanket and heat matt too. For that I needed to cover the doggy door to prevent her to come in like before and as soon as we got home I open the doggy door and let her in. Today I noticed that she poop inside living room under the table two times so this was not and accident. She pee out side but the poop where inside. So here is my question should I by a indoor fence or something like that and set it up in a way which whenever we are not home we can put her in which she will have space to walk around inside living room away from furniture and secure but at the same time she can use the doggy door as before without covering the doggy door? I think she is confused about going out she may be things if sh goes out can not come in or maybe she poop inside like to let us know that she is not happy. What should I do?

If I get an outdoor dark wicker furniture set, how can I protect it from dog pee?

I LOVE this outdoor living room set I saw..it will go underneith a patio. Where I live it doesn’t rain much BUT my dogs pee on everything. Is it possible that I take off the cusions and, maybe, spray paint it with a clear gloss to protect the ‘weatherproof’ wicker?

help! carpet was a disaster upon move-in?

I moved into a new apartment a couple months ago. When I first got there, I noticed that there was dog hair and dog smell EVERYWHERE in the carpet. I vacuumed the living room and kitchen area at least three times and I came up with several bags of hair. I brought a "sample" of it in to the front office and they said they would have the company come back out and re-evaluate and possibly do a deep clean. Two problems: 1 – I already have all my furniture in the apartment, so I would have to deal with moving it all around to re-clean the carpet. 2 – The carpet company never came.

Well, I decided I would just suck it up and keep vacuuming until most of the hair was gone. Two months later and I’m still getting this gross dog hair all over my clothes and things. THEN out of nowhere, there is this dark oily stain on the carpet by the patio door. It literally surfaced out of nowhere. I’m assuming that whatever makeup the carpet cleaning company used to cover the stain was lifted up from all the vacuuming I’ve been doing.

Anyway, I’m pretty disgusted with this carpet. Any chance that I won’t be charged for carpet cleaning upon move-out? It seems like they didn’t even vacuum the place, let alone do a shampoo/pet treatment. What do you guys think?

          Frustration!…need some Home buying opinions and/or advice…PLEASE!!?

Well, My husband and I are currently looking at a house we may possibly purchase for ,000.00. (the house is appraised for 78,000.00 on the "tax district" website…dont know how accurate this is?) we live in Texas.
The house is 1263 sq ft (add another 237 sq ft for garage and small patio)
          3 bedroom 1 1/2 bath
          attached garage
However there are some pro’s and of course con’s…I guess i am just wanting some "outside" thoughts…

Pros: Great side of town, Great school district, down the street from a park, nice size backyard, the price, the owner is moving out of state so the refrigerator, stove, washer, dryer, and 2 refrigerated AC’s are staying in the house. New Roof, New PVC water pipes, steel siding, automatic garage door with opener, Hardwood floors, water heater only 3 years old, we will be paying around 0.00 less a month then what we pay now for a rent house…

Cons: There is currently no central heat or air (we are plan to add this if we buy), will have to replace some windows, repair partial backyard fence, paneled walls, 2 of the bedrooms have already had the carpet lifted..so the have the wood floors we will have to lift the carpet in the living room, floor furnace, …basically the house is a bit old and hasn’t had any TLC in a while?

So what do you think worth it??? I Know this is alot of info…i would greatly appreciate any kind of opinions? Thanks!

          Which house should I buy?

          House #1
Almost 1300 square feet. 3 bedrooms one bath. This is the set up. There are 2 entrances. The main entrance is into the kithchen, long and narrow, no table can fit in here. The bathroom is off of the kitchen with the washer and dryer enclosed in the closet. Off of the kitchen is a stairwell. Upstairs is a small enclosure which is used as an office. Then across from that is a room used as a bedroom. Back downstairs is a dining room area open to the living room, which has a fireplace. Off of the living room is 2 bedrooms. There is also a little sitting area off the living room which is where the other entrance is. This house has a above ground pool with a deck and a small back and side yard. The house has not been renovated in years but is only in need of some minor repairs at this point. The house however is across from some rental properties that are not to appealing. The taxes are also a little high.

          House #2
Almost 900 square feet. This house has double the property and less taxes by about 1,000. It is in a nicer area but is almost 30,000 more. It has a new septic and has been renovated but could still use some more repairs as some things have been left outdated. The house has new siding and a hotwater heater. The washer and dryer are in the basement which can only be accessed from the outside of the house. This house has an open floor plan but is smaller. You walk into the main area which is the living room with a area for dinning and then an open kitchen, also small like the other. This kitchen has a door leading out to the back patio which is stone. Back inside there are 3 bedrooms and a bath off of the main area. So this house has the back patio and a side yard.

          So which to buy.

The cheaper house with the higher taxes for half the property. Needs some renovations, cosmetic but has a pool, fireplace, and upstairs which is almost an additional 400 square feet more than the other. Not so sure about the neighbors in the rentals accross the way.

Or the smaller house with more property and less taxes that has some new and expensive updates but is 30,000 more?

Let me know your opinion and why.
          Thanks

          Remodeling near Urbana Ohio?

I have two exterior doors to my home. The front door and the side door that leads to the driveway. We added a patio two years ago and would like to find a contractor that could install a patio door and patio light where a wall and medium size window currently are. There is also a baseboard heater underneath the window that we are going to remove. We need the side door that leads to the drive way closed up also. When we turn the side doorway into more wall space we will be adding a wood burning stove there ourselves. My husband is a construction worker and we have done most of the work to our house by ourselves. ie. Removing the wall between the living room and dining room, putting in a concrete patio, etc.So he CAN do this himself but would rather not have to. Do you know of any contractors who could do this work near the Urbana Ohio area?
I’ve looked up contractors already. I would like to know of people who have had experience with contractors near this area that would recommend them.

Best ways to lighten living rm & dining rm? I have black leather couches, black coffee table, dark hardwooods.?

Hi, I don’t think I should have all dark stuff in the attached living room and dining room in my new condo… any creative people out there!

I still have to buy a dining room table with chairs, drapes/blinds for the patio door (in living room), pictures for the wall, throw cushions, maybe a rug for the dark hardwoods. What do I need to do to lighten up the room, painting not an option, the current walls are probably light… should I:

          1) buy a glass dining room table with light chairs?
          2) I may want a new coffee/end table, should I buy glass for those?
          3) Light throw cushions? What should they match, the wall color?
          4) I’ll need drapes / vertical blinds for the living room balconey door… should those be lighter in color?

Or, should everything be dark? Is that even acceptable by today’s decorating standards? I want people to come over and say WOW in a good way.

          Any advice is appreciated.

HEEELLPPP!!! Getting out of a 1 year lease BEFORE even moving into the apt!!?

Okay so here’s the thing, I signed a lease for one year July 27th 2010. After I signed the paperwork, I went into the apartment to see what still had to be done. After viewing it, i went back to the property manager or i guess superintendent and I told them about a few concerns i had.
First thing: The board that is underneath the kitchen sink where you put i guess your pots and pans etc, was sinking in on on side. I put pressure there with my foot to see if it would sink in more and it did. The apartment is on the ground floor so I’m afraid of the wood being rotten and that attracts centipedes and I DESPISE THEM! On top of that, it would be easy access for other creepy crawlers to get in. I told the lady about my concern and she said they would change the board so that there was no sinkage and no gap.

Secondly, the floors are hardwood floors. In the walk in closet, the floors are starting to rise and i believe that is a hazard for my son to live in.

Third: The radiators(heaters) in the living room, and both bedrooms, are not completely covered. I’m afraid that when winter comes, my 2 and a hlf year old son may be curious (he’s at that age) and cann burn his hand if he touches anywhere that is bare and isnt covered.

Lastly: As i mentioned, I am on the ground floor. the apartment next me to is vacant because in the backyeard or patio, there are three "empty" garbage dumpster bins that are now begining to smell! When I went to view the apartment before giving a depost and signing the lease, i asked if they were empty and if they were smelly. I was told tehy were empty and that they never hd a complaint and wouldnt be an issue for me. Now, I m concerned because whe i went to move my things in today, everyoen who was helping was complaining about the stench! Ontop of that we have no a/C in the building and I need ot be able to allow "fresh" air in especially considering the fact that i have my 2 year old. Can that be considered a hazard to his health? Breathing in that garbage and whatnot?

HELP ME PLEASEE! I really dont wanna be stuck there for one year with all those things! I was told someone was gonna be done and nothing has been taken care of.

          Signed,

          Desperate!

Why isn't there more Info on here about Edenpure and Suntwins, Etc… Seems very little contribution to..?

questions. I would really like to see more info on them. I’m looking into getting one to supplement my heat to help cut down on propane. I bought an Oil filled Heater but I dont think that will do the job. I live in a Manufactured home, large open plan for Kitchen and Living room. Say 600 square feet of area i want to keep warm. The bedrooms and bathrooms are cut back from heat. Will one of the NEW heaters do the job? I have R40 in the ceiling, which is vaulted and has a ceiling fan rotating counter clockwise to help with air ciculation of warm air. R19 in the walls and Floor. Plastic over the Patio door. Can someone give me some DIRECT advice. Anyone use the EDENpURE or Comfort Zone Heaters, Suntwins, ETC…
          Thanks

Can I negotiate paying less rent?

I wrote a letter to my landlord at the begining of May and haven’t heard back from him. I asked him to have someone come check our water heater because the hot water runs out within 2 mins in the shower. We asked for hardwood flooring as our neighbors all have hardwood floors and when we moved in we didn’t get an option to have hardwood (and we didn’t know the neighbors had them) and they only replaced the carpet in the living room. The rest of the place has old dirty carpet. We asked for rain gutters as when the rains come it washes the roof onto our patio. We asked to replace our windows as the screens do not fit and the windows bang around when the winds pick up. We have cat that will jump out if they see an opened or loose screen. Anyone have some experience with this and can I get some advice? I’m thinking of trying to negotiate the rent down if no repairs are made. We pay more than the rest of the tenants too. Can I withhold rent?
What are my options? Thanks for readin

How to feng shui an apartment with a door entrance that faces the South (190 degrees)?

I was born Feb. 11, 1984 and am a female. My apartment door faces south, half of my living room and all of my storage room is in the SW corner, my patio is in the west corner, a quarter of my bedroom and an empty space take up the NW corner, my bedroom is in the north area, my living room is in the center, my bathroom is in the NE corner, my dining room is in the NE, and my kitchen is in the SW corner. My lucky corners are NW, W, SW,and NE and my unlucky areas are N, S, SE, and E. I am very worried about my bedroom being in the north corner because that’s my career area as well a the water element area, my entrance is a fire element but is an unlucky direction and my kitchen is my wealth a prosperity but is in an unlucky corner… what can i do to help remedy is problem? I’m buying new furniture and am considering painting my walls. I would like to have strong love, career and health corners.

How do you Feng Shui an apt with the door entrance facing the South?

I was born Feb. 11, 1984 and am a female. My apartment door faces south (190 degrees) but a little more closer to the south east side. I’m using what I think is the western school of feng shui in that my apartment layout in divided into 9 squares:
Empty area and a quarter of my bedroom where the widow is in the NW corner and number 6
Bedroom is in the North and number 1
Bathroom is in the North East (toliet does not face the door but may face either south or NW) and number 8
Patio area is in the West and number 7
Living room and a quarter of my bedroom is in the center and number 5
Dining room is in the East and is number 3
Storage room outside and a quarter of my living room is South West and number 2
Entrance to the house and 2/3 of my living room is in the South and number 9 (the door is more to the SW side of the wall)
Kitchen is in the South East and is number 4

My lucky corners are NW, W, SW,and NE and
My unlucky areas are N, S, SE, and E.

I am very worried about my bedroom being in the north corner because that’s my career area as well being the water element area, my northwest corner where helpfulpeople and travel has only a quarter of my bedroom where the widow is on that side of the wall and is empty, my entrance is a fire element but is an unlucky direction according to my kua number and my kitchen is my wealth a prosperity but is in an unlucky corner… what can i do to help remedy is problem? I’m buying new furniture and am considering painting my walls. I would like to have strong love, career and health corners.
